During 2008, through a grant from Wal-Mart in Reynoldsburg and in partnership with Millrow Characters, Bobbi Buckle Up and Coordinator Linda Tvorik provided safety education to children in the KinderCare preschools in Reynoldsburg. This included car seat and booster seat education, helping the children understand the importance of being properly restrained in car seats until age 4 and 40 pounds, then sitting in booster seats until reaching either age 8 or 4’9″ tall.
Other safety education included learning traffic signs, wearing helmets when riding bicycles, looking both ways before crossing the street and never crossing the street alone before age 10.
A coloring contest was held with the students at the KinderCare Preschools, with one girl and one boy winning a bicycle with a helmet and knee and shoulder pads.
